PART OF SPEECH
Part of speech is a basic parts of making English sentence. According to Oxford dictionary, part of speech is a category which a word is assigned in accordance with its syntactic functions. Part of speech itself is divided into eight categories. There are noun, pronoun, verb, adverb, conjunction, interjection, preposition and adjective. Each part of speech contains different "degree of word"
A. NOUN
It is used to relate with the verb. it can be a name of person, things, animal, place.
example: Bicycle, Cat, Dog, New York, Bed.
B. PRONOUN
It is used to replace a noun and avoid the repetition of the noun.
example: He, She, It, You, etc.
C. VERB
It is used to show the action of the verb and show the something event
example: Run, Go, Move, Hide
D. Adverb
This part of speech is used to clarify the verb, noun or adjective
There are several kind of adverbs : time, manner, degree, place.
example: Yesterday, Very, Quickly
E. Adjective
It is used to clarify the noun and verb
example: beautiful, expensive, cheap, ugly
F. Preposition
This part of speech is combined with noun, or pronoun to make a phrase which clarifies verb, noun or adjective
example: in, on , at, etc
G. Conjunction
It is used to connect two words, phrases, clauses or paragraphs. There are 4 kinds of conjunction.
Coordinate conjunction, Correlative conjunction, Adverbial conjunction and Adverbial conjunction
example: but, and, both.... and, not only.... but also, etc
H. Interjection
it is a short speech to reveal or expose your feelings
example: hi, hello, ouch !!!, ah!!
